[Guide] Installing Forge/liteloader and mods

Post by ZZachary »

Client-side mods can be a great addition to your Cubeville experience. However, they can be a bit challenging to install! Here is a quick guide on how to get started with modding!

Disclaimer: As always be cautious about what you download online!

How to Install forge/liteloader.
  1. Download Forge Installer for your desired version of Minecraft and run it. Follow the instructions in the installer.
http://files.minecraftforge.net/ (for Cubeville currently you want 1.12.2)
  2. Download liteloader installer and run it.
    http://www.liteloader.com/download (same version as forge)
  3. On the Liteloader Installer make sure you use the dropdown menu “Extend from” and select the forge profile. The name for our 1.12.2 profile should look something like 1.12.2-Forge…
How to install Mods:
  1. Download the mods you would like to install.
  2. Go to your “.minecraft” folder.

    Windows:

    2. Type %APPDATA%\.minecraft and click "OK".
    Mac:
    1. Press ⌘ Command+Space or open the Spotlight popup through the magnifying glass icon in the right of the Menu Bar.
    2. type ~/Library/Application Support/Minecraft and hit ↵ Enter.
  3. Open the “Mods” folder.
  4. Located the mods you downloaded (likely in your downloads folder) then move them into your mods folder.
  5. Run Minecraft on the Forge/Liteloader profile.
