VotingVoting will work as usual at the start of the map, but next weekend will bring about some changes.
➳ Balancing the Budget
With the voting system we've been using, we have players who cannot vote often or at all, (for instance those that share internet access with other players,) while at the same time others are able to have many accounts and to vote with all of them. As a result, some players cannot get the free cubes at all, and others can pretty easily get quite large amounts every day. We wanted to create a system that was fairer and would allow all players access to daily cubes.
➳ Cubes For Votes
Voting for Cubeville is still appreciated, and it will still net a few cubes, (2 cubes per vote.) However, most free cubes will come from our new daily quests.
Daily QuestsAlso beginning the 24th of January, you will be able to do simple tasks in-game to earn your daily cubes!
➳ Starting The Quests
Every day you may speak to our new daily quest NPC in the Quest Hall at spawn, Eshe, to choose a quest you'd like to do from three random options. The quests are simple, and you won't have to turn anything back in.
➳ Complete Tasks
Each quest will include three tasks, you will need to complete all of them to get your full daily cube allotment. The tasks can be anything from gathering a bucket of milk to getting shot by a shulker. What you have to do will be in theme with the quest you have chosen, so if you feel more like, say, brewing a potion than hunting endermen that day, you can choose what you'd like most. The first task will be the easiest and worth 5 cubes, the second task will grant you an additional 10 cubes and take a bit more effort, and the final task will be a little harder and worth another 15 cubes. Doing all three will get you 30 cubes a day.
➳ Journals and Progression
After you've picked up the quest and struck out, you will be able to summon a journal that tells your current quest task in case you forget. When you finish one task, you will automatically be given the cube reward for it as well as the next task. There is no need to go back to the NPC or to turn anything in. What you make or get while doing your daily quest you may keep.
➳ Bonus Quest
There is a rare chance that when you complete the third task of your daily quest, you will be offered an extra quest for a bonus cube reward! These tasks will be harder, but if you complete them you'll get an extra 20 cubes.
➳ Adaptable
We really hope you'll enjoy our new daily cube arrangement, but your feedback will of course also be appreciated as we settle this new system into place.
