I'm gonna admit , that is crappy that theres no refund as they deserve something back that was taken

They've gotten 10 years of use out of those perks - plenty of use for the $$ they paid :)

I mean do whatever y'all want , I don't like some of the new changes , but whatever floats the boat. But I'm not sure some old players will be thrilled with the changes & removal of ranks that have been made.

As I said earlier, where there have been changes to ranks like splitting the extra region perk out from DR and into Entrepreneur I, players with the old DR rank will be getting Entrepreneur to maintain the perks they had before. Where a perk is removed entirely that is down to the way that minecraft has changed over time, especially considering we are jumping forward several versions this time, and it took a lot of work to update those plugins to keep as much as possible on CV7. There is very little that has been lost completely and where things have been lost there is generally a replacement rank to fill the gap (such as the new Death Hound rank which has a completely new ability and will be given to those with the DM rank). I don't think those with old ranks are losing out here, we're just updating as well as we can. Where things have changed for balance, like the cooldowns on /respawn, that is just making things a bit fairer for everyone and toning down abilities which otherwise make the game too easy.

I think there might be something of a misunderstanding here, no one is just having things taken away from them. Some parts of ranks have been changed, and the people who had purchased the ranks in the past will receive those updated perks. They aren't having things removed and nothing to make up for it.

Additionally, there have been quite a few parts of the ranks people originally purchased that have not been functional in quite a long time. In fact, a number of them were already broken before any of us current active SAs had even joined the Cubeville server, like toll doors and automatic plots sales, for example.

On the whole, people who had purchased ranks in the past, especially end-chain ranks, will have more functional rank abilities than they have had in many years. Not only that, but the perks they purchased have given them a far greater advantage over the last handful of years than they were ever intended to, since they were unavailable to all other players, and I would argue that this was not a slight advantage.

Please keep in mind that we are not a paid staff team. All work done for CV is purely volunteer work, and all money that was paid for ranks a long time went toward running and improving the server at the time, just as Patreon donations support the server now. As Wally also pointed out, at the time ranks were purchased there was no guarantee that the Cubeville server would even be around in 5 years time, let alone that all ranks would still be available exactly as they were when created a decade ago. We have done our best to try to make sure people who had purchased ranks long ago are not losing out while trying to be as fair as possible to all players, not to mention trying to ensure there are no grey areas anyone can worry about between the server and Minecraft's EULA.

well for one, miniranks you don't get a prefix and they're less then the ranks and then ranks have prefix's and they have more then miniranks :D

DM wasn't bought out till 2013 or 14. I started in 2012, so that cant be 10 years.

Wally, it has nothing to do with the splitting of the ranks.. or the fact we got deathhound for ratpack, which I also don't like. It's to do with the 1hour cooldown time. It's way too long. Why cant it be like the rest 20 min at most. 10 at least.

How and what are these 'more functional abilities' you speak of.. I cant see any 'MORE' in taking away the, 'instant respawn to making it 1hr cooldown', at all. Where does the more function ability come in here?

If I am not a staff because I choose not to, then should I not have something to say I have put in a lot of years and over $450 into this server in my time I have spent here?

Wally wasn't even on CV when all this happened and if he was he had the chance to get the perks at a (may I say VERY) reduced price when he had the chance. Also if he does have them why would any of these changes effect him now. He has /god , /v , /gmsp , /gmcr among others and can spy on anyone he chooses. I know cause I have had many a high rank staff do it, from Sequoia to Toe.

rank equality makes no sense here, I gotta agree with Tis on this one. Sorry staff >.>

Since my last message on the forums , I have changed my stance on things , I feel that nerfing down and removing irrelevant ranks was what needed to be done. Luckily anyone who had the ranks that were removed due to having no purpose to being broke can get replacement ranks for the missing ones. I find that with these changes , we won't see certain players having more of an advantage over others and ofc in the future many of these ranks will be available costing a good bit of cubes to get , but still leveling the playing field for many Cs who have been without.
