☀ Winter Island 2021 ☀

Somehow we are almost at the end of another year, and that means it must be Winter Island time! A land of games, snow, gifts and uh...more snow! You can find Winter Island by heading to the Event Valley at spawn - this is standard for all CV Events now so you should know your way there. If not there is a small snowy portal immediately in front of the /spawn location to send you in the right direction. Once you reach the Event Valley head into the large fireplace to be transported to Winter Island.
Once you arrive at Winter Island there are several things to do, with a few little games on top of the main event in the Land of Gifts. Here is a sneak peek of what to expect on Winter Island:

Candycane Circuit
⠀⠀⠀⠀
It wouldn't be a modern Cubeville event without a new boat race track, and Winter Island is no exception. If you climb up the tree you will come across the Boat Race Bauble which will transport you to Candycane Circuit. Players will have until 27th December to try and place in the top 20 of the leaderboard. Players who are within the top 20 at the end will receive a special prize, depending on how highly they've placed.

Find the Button
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Speaking of Cubeville event traditions...of course there is a fiendishly difficult Find the Button game! You can access the FtB island via one of the bauble portals in the giant tree. Once you get there you just need to walk around the island and locate all the buttons to get yourself a prize. Sounds easy? Well - wait until you start trying to find them all. Good luck!

Ski Hill
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ready to put on your skis and race down a huge mountain? Is it safe? Not really. Is it fun? Definitely! Ride up the ski lift, which is itself an adventure, and see how quickly you can reach the bottom whilst hitting all the checkpoints. You can get to the Ski Hill via a bauble portal in the Winter Island tree.

Skiing can be scary...personally I enjoy just going round and round on the ski lift!

Rabbit Hunt
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Poor Beryl has managed to lose all of her snow white rabbits...and of course on winter island they blend right in to the terrain. If you speak to Beryl and offer to help find all her rabbits she will offer you a reward - but good luck finding white rabbits in fields of snow!

Gifts from Santa Signup
⠀⠀⠀⠀
And here we have the main event of Winter Island - signing up to get your gifts from Santa! If you speak to Buddy the Elf (standing by the sleigh at the entrance to the island) he will transport you to the Land of Gifts. There you can follow the instructions written on the board to complete your wishlist for Santa and claim your candy cane. Make sure you have signed up by the 23rd December in order to get your gifts on time!
If you want to send gifts to your friends, or to the whole server, via Santa Delivery you will find a chest under the tree in the Land of Gifts. Just drop your items there, making sure they are named so Santa knows who to send them to, and they will be delivered ready for Christmas Day. If you want to drop off items that will go to everyone who signs up, please ensure you deliver at least three full stacks of the items to make sure there is enough for one each.

The sea of green candy canes will gradually turn red as spots are claimed. Head there early to get yourself a prime location!

Spleefmas
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Those of you who were here last year may remember Spleefmas - an addition to regular spleef where gifts will be dropped into the arena at random during games. You will see an announcement when a gift is about to be dropped, so keep an eye out and be the first to grab it! Once you've got a gift from spleef you need to speak to KittyClaus at the bottom of the spectator area to get them sent back to survival. You can then find another KittyClaus (they must be twins) in the Winter Island tree who will unwrap the gifts and give them to you. There are plenty of cool prizes to be won so make sure you're paying attention during spleef - even if you lose the round you might end up winning great prizes!

Snowball Spleef
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Snowball Spleef returns this year - the exciting version of spleef where your inventory is loaded with knockback snowballs, adding an extra dimension to spleef. You might be good at breaking blocks, but how do you cope when you also need to dodge snowballs that may knock you off the edge? Watch out for announcements that the game is starting - you can access the arena via a bauble portal in the Winter Island tree. Good luck spleefers!

Winter PvP

There is a small Winter themed PvP arena available whilst Winter Island is open. Accessible via a bauble portal in the Winter Island tree, it is ideal for 1v1's or small teams.

Another Winter Island tradition - all players are able to collect one copy of their head. Just visit Flurry's stall in the Land of Gifts to get yours.

Halloween Prizes

No I'm not crazy, I know this is Winter Island... However, as Halloween Island has closed this year just as Winter Island opens, you'll find your Halloween prizes offered in the Winter Island Event Valley. On 8th December (the day after Winter Island opens), you will be able to enter Jack Skellington's house in Event Valley and go to the Halloween Prize shop. Embrace the Nightmare Before Christmas and swing by to pick up your loot!
