✮ CV8: Economy Changes ✮
⠀
Over the years the economies on CV have had their ups and downs, and whilst we've tinkered around the edges at times, we've never really made any fundamental changes to the way the economy works on CV. Well, that's going to change with CV8! Some things are experimental, and we'll see how the economy shakes out, but we're excited to run you through the changes you can expect to see next map, and the new ways you can earn cubes to make those big ticket purchases like ranks a bit faster!
⠀
CVC Plots
⠀
The landscape of shopping is about to change in a big way—there will be no more CVC plots! To decentralize the economy and encourage player-driven growth, we’re removing the option for pre-made plots entirely. This opens the door for a new era where player-built settlements, towns, and cities become the heartbeat of the marketplace. For too long, CVC has dominated the shopping scene, making it hard for player towns to compete. Now, the playing field is wide open, and it’s up to you to shape the economy and build thriving commercial hubs. We can’t wait to see the unique shopping districts and landmarks you create as you take control of this exciting new world!
⠀
Auction House
⠀
Get ready for a game-changing addition to the CV economy—the Auction House is here! This new system will complement the chest shop economy, allowing players to buy and sell items directly to each other with ease. Whether you're putting your rare finds up for sale or posting requests for those hard-to-get items, the Auction House is your new go-to marketplace. It adds a dynamic layer to the economy, where deals can be struck on the fly and fortunes made from selling what others need. We’re excited to see how this system evolves and becomes an essential part of your trading strategies! The auction house will also be the new home of player to player trading, with a new system closer to that in the wilds, rather than just meeting up somewhere and throwing items on the floor. A more secure and convenient way to trade with other players.
⠀

Admin Shops
⠀
We're making a drastic change to the way the admin shops function on CV8. Up until now they've been a place to buy rare items that are tricky to get hold of as a new player joining a multiplayer server. Now, you will be able to sell items TO the admin shops, as a new way to earn cubes. While the prices aren’t meant to compete with player-run shops, they offer a guaranteed way to earn cubes when you're in a pinch. But if you're really desperate to grind out another hundred cubes for something you want, and every shop is full up on diamonds, you could sell them to the admin shop for guaranteed cubes. After all, admin shop chests are never full. To keep the system balanced and fair, there’s a cap of 200c per week, and we'll be monitoring trade trends to keep the market running smoothly.
⠀
CV Bank
⠀
Tired of juggling alt accounts just to manage saving your cubes? Say goodbye to the hassle! A brand-new bank is coming to spawn, where you can safely deposit your cubes and resist the urge to spend when you're saving for something big. But that’s not all—smart savers will be rewarded with interest! To keep things balanced, you’ll earn 5% interest per week on your first 1000 cubes, giving everyone a fair chance to grow their savings. It’s time to take control of your finances, stash away your cubes, and watch your wealth grow over time!
⠀

Weekly Lottery
⠀
Looking for another way to earn cubes and contribute to the games pot? Introducing the weekly lottery in CV8, managed by NPCs at the bank! Every week, you can buy up to 10 tickets for just 10c each, with the big prize draw happening every Sunday. The lucky winners will split the jackpot with the games pot, ensuring not only a hefty reward for the winner, but also keeping plenty of cubes available for other players to earn in Skylands games
⠀
Daily Quests
⠀
Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about daily quests, one of the key aspects of our economy. It is being completely overhauled, and will be getting its own announcement post in the next few days
