Cv8: Rift & New Map Launch

Ready yourselves for 24 hours of delicious mayhem as we say goodbye to Cubeville's 7th map in a spectacular way: by blowing it up. PvP will be enabled, protections on land and loot will cease to be, and TNT will gouge craters in the landscape. Rules are more limited, and are outlined below.
Rift Begins: 12pm Noon EDT on Saturday, 19th October
Witching Hours: 9am EDT on Sunday, 20th October
Rift Ends: 12pm Noon EDT on Sunday, 20th October
➳ Rules of Rift
For the final 3 hours of Rift, and aside from the above exceptions, hacks and staff powers will be on the table. Terrifying mobs will haunt Spawn, players will fly, and the server will be ablaze in these final hours of desolation.
Note that staff may only use their powers for combat during the Witching Hours, otherwise there will be a level playing field between staff and citizens, keeping everything fair and fun for all.

The Cubeville 8 map will launch by evening of the 20th, EDT Sunday, provided everything goes smoothly as expected during the transition period. Any updates to this timeframe will be posted here on the forums as well as on Discord. When the map launches, we will all begin again as new players in the revamped tutorial system. No cubes to our names, but a new world full of possibilities before us.
⋆°⦵.ᵒ What Will Happen To CV7?
The CV7 map will be saved for the final time just before Rift begins and become available to visit in the sightseeing section of Hub. It will later be available for world download, as are our other maps. There have been some great memories made and amazing bonds formed on CV7, not to mention really fantastic builds. We are excited to see what CV8 has in store!

➳ Rules of Rift
- No Hacks until the Witching Hours.
- No attempting to hack into the server itself or any staff accounts. Any attempt to jeopardize the security of the server will result in a permanent ban.
- No swearing. This chat rule still applies.
- Be respectful and considerate of others. Keep Rift fun for everyone. Do not hold grudges, do not be overly aggressive to others trying to enjoy Rift. Do not pressure people into joining Rift if they do not wish to.
- Do not dump lava at the /spawn point. It keeps people from being able to access CVC quickly and is not fun. Staff are not there to clean up after you.
- When Rift ends, all of the drama of Rift ends. When Rift is closed and we move on to the new map; do not hold grudges, do not bicker in chat, do not continue feuds.
- All player ranks will be disabled during rift, ensuring a level playing field for everyone
