to be fair... I spent an hour looking for chickens for feathers and got lost like... a lot of times so that was partly my own fault

While we do not want the daily quests to end up taking large chunks of players' available play time and are working to adjust things that indeed need to be more in line with our vision of the system, please keep in mind that it is not intended to be comparable in time to how long it took to vote. If it was, it would not bring balance in all the ways it was aimed to do. :)

Most the quests are designed to be compatible with regular daily play. Combined with the option of which quest line to accept, you shouldn't feel like you have to go super out of your way most the time to do daily quests, (the bonus quests being an exception there.)

As far as worth goes, that is up to you. If you feel like you could earn more cubes in the same time doing something else, you sure have the option to take that route instead. :3 I would point out though that you keep what you do or make for daily quests, it's not that you are trading in precious items for a handful of cubes. :D

I had some feed back from yesterday and didn't know where to post...

The quests need to be nubbed down a ton, at least on that first 5c. I've done 5 quests now with me and my alt. I spent 90 minutes looking for ancient debris, which paid 5c. Then another 30 minutes looking for more because to complete the tasks I needed 4 things of it so I had to go back for more. I had never been to the nether to mine this map so I was clueless and frustrated. (I also needed a pick that costs at LEAST 20c to do this quest, so net gain of 10 cubes.)

Today I got a cow killing mission: 16 leather. I'm doing this with my alt, who has a normal iron sword and after killing 5 cows I've got 4 leather. There's no public farm to get cows, I went to Oars Rest and some goofball didn't breed the animals. After 30 minutes of play I'm out of time and I didn't even get my 5 cubes.

I think the idea of quests is great. It supposed to give everyone equal access -- but before one person with internet could get 30 cubes easy, now it's a struggle to get 5.

The tasks, at least that first one, needs be done by a super nub with stone tools. Think first time player. Because this is what happens: new player says hey, where do I get money? We all direct him/her to quests. They say I can't do that & give up in frustration. (I saw that yesterday with the ancient debris.)

Plus we STILL have players who are able to pull together 1600 cubes in a week and buy a shop plot. So the field ain't even yet.

StlDenise is right, I also wanted to mention, that voting was the only way for inactive players who still vote, to get their money, and use it someday, but now those who dont have time to log on and make quest everyday can't get their money, voting was a good way to get them :P

Also most of quests are easy, but I think I would implement this sistem when CV gets more advanced with farms and stuff.

I just appreciate your work staff, all the quests I just tried looked amazing, and I understand it is a lot of work just doing one of them. I just hope you all find a way to solve the problems that people are sharing :^

Thank you!

So today I got the Weaponsmith level 2 task of crafting 16 fireworks. Crafted 18 firework rockets (1 paper, 1 gunpowder) and removed them by mouse from the crafting grid. Nothing registered. What type of fireworks was it expecting? Or did something else go wrong?

We knew there would be some needed work to balance things as we got to see them actually in play. As you can see from the change log, a number of fixes have already been implemented in response to feedback and observation of the daily quests in action, and that will continue. :)

It seems to mostly have been just a few in the 5c range that have been very problematic, but those certainly were frustrating for some players, especially as it is the start of map. We are working on toning things back, including things involving ancient debris.

Ok I just wanted to say here that buying a pickaxe rather than making one was optional. xD Not having a pickaxe is a first day on the server problem, though. Getting a pickaxe is one of the first things any player is generally going to need to do when starting off in Minecraft either way, so having to get one to do a daily quest should not be the usual situation. We agree the netherite needed to shift it, though.

To be honest I think this is most of the problem. Most of these quests really are pretty easy and will not be challenging at all once the map begins to get established and for the average player who has had a chance to at least set up a simple base. Only, we're all new players at the moment, and things that will soon be easily available on the map as it gets built up just aren't there yet. We're working on that problem particularly and I think we have some nice solutions to roll out soon.

Voting worked as normal for the first week of the map so that contributed to making this possible, but also some people just have a lot of play time / found cool resources and sold them to others. There are always going to be players with more and less money, our goal is to make the opportunities themselves more fair. It might have been easy for one person with internet to vote and get cubes before, but not for their siblings or other family / house members, and not for other players who may not vote at all.

I agree that is unfortunate :/ but I don't think it should come ahead of trying to make things more fair for our active players.

What about the inactive players who are inactive for reasons such as family? And can still vote just not play?
Or one time I had TIME to play but minecraft wouldn't even open?

I dont mind daily quests at all, but could there be a way to gain cubes while inactive? ( not automatically ofc, something like voteing but just for inactive players, active players dont have access to it. )

I think it’s not even, not unfair. Some players like Chao were on for 36 hours in the first 3 days, and in 36 hours had 2000c. Most of us don’t have that kind of time. Not even CLOSE to that amount of time. I do really agree with everything stldenise said, except for the pic. It’s Minecraft. You need to have a good pic.

I would like to point out here that Chao's method of getting cubes did not involve finding loopholes in the voting system. Early on he found a resource that was in high demand (enchanted books, specifically mending) and then sold it like hot cakes to other players. A method which I know multiple people have and are using to make money.
We can't really balance people who have lots of time and are willing to put in lots of work. Players who do put in work for their cubes shouldn't be punished for doing so.
That said there are discussions on how to better balance things so just sit tight and we'll work it out.

Oh he worked very hard and deserved the cubes he got, I’m saying that lots of others don’t have that much time to be playing on CV.
