Here’s my opening topic for the town hall meeting coming up this Saturday… so after some brainstorming, the idea of a citizen’s-level decision-making body has been tweaked to fit Cubeville’s structure a little better. It turns out that implementing distinct, even districts with their own senators is pretty much impossible on a server as extensive as CV- drawing up representational lines alone would be a daunting, plus potentially highly controversial, task. With that in mind, I’d like to present a modified structure – it’s based roughly on a school’s parent-teacher association, or PTA, which feels more closely related to how the Citizen’s Union fits into CV so far- the goal is to have it working alongside, though distinct from, the server management (that is, staff).Here’s the idea of it:
- There would be a decision-making committee of five players (ranked either C or R), who rather than representing separate districts of CV, would represent the whole of the player base as a group. These five would put their heads together with the president and/or VP to plan events, run competitions, do fundraisers (yes, one of the players would be designated a treasurer), set up ways to help new players, etc. They would meet weekly (adaptable), and will be elected by their peers- I’ll get to the election process in a sec.
- Every other week would continue to be town hall meetings with anybody and everybody; these meetings would open with the committee presenting whatever they’ve been working on and letting everybody weigh in on it. After that, the meeting would proceed with open topics as it has before – topics that can be addressed at the peer level would be hashed out between us, and server-level topics would be pushed to the staff team as required.
- 1. Over the next Saturday meeting (September 5 at 3pm EST), we’ll take nominations - each nomination must be seconded by at least one other citizen, and you can’t nominate yourself. (If you can’t make the meetings and you’d like to nominate somebody, message me privately sometime before the meeting with your candidate’s username.)
- 2. Nominations will close at 6pm EST on September 5.
- 3. Over the week following that, there will be an open vote, where everybody lists their top 5 candidates by preference and sends their list to me (Discord dm, forums private message, in-game pm, or a written/signed book dropped in the designated chest I'll set up will all work for getting your vote in).
- 4. Just gonna add, bribes are not an acceptable way to get in a nomination or vote, thanks
- 5. The voting period will close on 11:59pm on September 11, 2020.
- 6. At the following day’s meeting, the top five nominees will be offered positions on the committee – yay!
- 7. Rules and duties within the committee (such as the aforementioned treasurer) will be hashed out at the first committee meeting.

I believe in getting people's voices heard and making this server a better place for everyone I will make your ideas reality I will NEVER say no to an idea to bring up because no matter how big or small it is it is always something and it it is yours and you all matter out there no-one ever should be left out or treaten differently we are all equal!
