▪︎HQ Building & CU Flag Contests▪︎
Hi everyone,
I understand & apologize that this announcement is a bit late. I wasn't able to finish (or start) writing it out the previous few weeks and then decided to wait until this Saturday so there could be a good, easy-to-remember time frame.
Clarifications & Amendments:
- CU members and representatives are allowed to participate in both contests.
- A person can participate in both the flag and HQ building contests as long as they follow the listed rules.
- Teams are allowed, but only up to 3 members per team. Teams are only allowed for the HQ building contest. All team members will need to ask a CU member to be their representative. Anyone found to be participating in either contest without a representative will be disqualified and removed from the plots until they get a representative.
- When said that the HQ builds for the contest should be "model-sized", it's meant that they should be smaller than the final builds. This means that they shouldn't take up a large chunk of the plots but should be large enough to have most of the important details of the "final build", but obviously not every detail.
- There are no set dimensions for HQ model builds. It's subjective in the way that it's up to the builder(s) to decide the correct size for their entrees that will have all of the necessary details without taking up a lot of the plot. By a lot of the plot, we mean 1/4 or more. However if you've done a lot for the build already and it takes up a large area, we won't ask you to remove it and start again. It's a matter of being courteous to the other users on the plot and being courteous to the members of the CU.
- There are six CU members, including the president.
- If you want to build your full size, you can do so either in a separate singleplayer world or on your own Creative World plot. However, it will not count towards final judgement. Every user should have a basic idea of how to expand their entered buildings in case they win the vote and their build is chosen to be the CU's Headquarters.
- We've decided that it would be easier to put the builds on specific plots instead of having them be spread out between everyone's plots. This way, while slightly less convenient, it's easier to track progress for CU representatives and easier to vote at the end of the competition times.
- Please be sure to label your HQ build as your own, and include your teammates if you choose to have any. This way we can't get it mixed up.
- By CU flag, we mean a banner. Map art won't be counted and block-created maps won't be counted either. Just banners, nubs.
▪︎HQ Builds:▪︎
- Built on preferably the CU_Bank's plot, but if we run out of room, let me know and I'll add everyone to my alt's plot, Alexiel_Braette.
- Please don't build things in the full size. In order to make sure we have enough space in the plots for both the HQ builds and the flags. We recommend and prefer that you build a "model" size, where it's large enough to have the majority of the details as the big version but not the size of the bigger version.
- If you work on an interior, I wouldn't get too invested in it. It's our goal to have everyone in the CU work on the interior of the winning build once it's built to full size.
- Please make sure you're taking the CU's needs into the equation. This includes and may not be limited to: a space for an information board, individual offices, a space large enough for meetings to be held.
- Please follow the server's rules. Any builds found to not follow Cubeville's rules will be disqualified.
- This announcement may be amended in the future but everyone choosing to participate will be made aware of any possible future changes.
- Only one entree per contestant.
▪︎Flag Contest:▪︎
- Must be able to be replicated in the survival world.
- Has the CU's colours – red, blue, black. These can be put in any order.
- The flags will be required to be made & placed in the dedicated spot in my alt's plot, Alexiel_Braette. This spot does not exist as of posting this message but will be created by the end of the day.
- Must follow Cubeville's rules. Anything found to not follow the server's rules will be disqualified.
- Other than that, the flag doesn't have anymore specific needs like the HQ does, besides the colours, ability to replicate in survival, and the server rules.
- Multiple entries, a maximum of 3 per contestant.
- These rules may be amended in the future. All participants will be notified if any future changes are to occur.
▪︎Information for public participants:▪︎
- You are required to have one CU representative. This representative will not be allowed to vote on your entries but are instead there to help you keep up to date with the contest end-datyes and the needs that the CU has with a flag and an HQ.
- Representatives will not be allowed to help with the entries of the people in which they represent.
- If a representative has too many people they’re representing, the people will be redelegated and given a new representative. However, if this doesn’t occur, the people can choose whom they would like to be their rep.
- Public participants are still required to follow all rules and will all be held to the same standard.
- These requirements may also be subject to changes, of which will be made to this post. Your representatives will be expected to update you on any future changes but it is best if you check back every few days or so if they fail to do so.
- If you’re unhappy with your representative after a week, please contact 1Loredana.
▪︎General Information▪︎
All questions & concerns go to me, 1Loredana. You can contact me on this server, via discord dms, or in-game dms. I'm unlikely to answer forum dms on time. HQ builds will have to be finished in one month, July 19th. Flags will have to be finished in 2 weeks, July 2nd. If these dates aren't actually 1 month and 2 weeks respectively, the contests will still end on those days.
Everything will be voted by the entire CU. When those days come specifics on voting will be posted in another announcement. Good luck everyone! Again, this message may be amended in the future.
