Build Battle 2: Hideout or Secret Lair

What, where, and when is the build battle?

Each participating player will be given a 150x150 block plot on which to build their entry on the Creative Server. The build battle takes place on a separate world, so you do not need to use your normal creative plot. You can build anything you like, so long as the build is based on the prompt set in this post, (see below). This build battle runs for 2 weeks and will be open Sunday, 21st August through Sunday, 11:59pm EDT 4th September.

How do I enter?

To get to the build battle, enter the event portal at spawn. Once you are there, use the /home command to create a plot. Like the normal creative world, you will be able to use /home to get to your plot as well. You have until the end of Sunday, 11:59pm EDT 4th of September to build your entry. You can take as long as you like on the building within that time frame and change it as much as you want up until the close of the contest. Nothing will be judged until after the contest has been closed, and the voting begins.

Once you have a plot you are automatically entered into the Build Battle, if you decide you want to exit the competition simply /modreq asking for your plot and entry to be removed.

In addition to the player vote, entrants will also have the opportunity to earn an invitation to the Cubeville build team and the associated new rank: Server Builder. Server Builders will work together and alongside staff on all kinds of build projects for Cubeville, on builds for everything from Quests, to Survival, to Skylands, and beyond. Server Builders will be chosen by a panel of experienced staff builders.

What is the build battle theme?

Your build must be based on the following theme:

"Hideout" or "Secret Lair"

You are free to interpret this idea in a variety of ways, as long as you are able to show the theme and the connection is able to be understood by the general population.

Rules for entries

✩ One player per plot
✩ Builds must be original, any found to be copied from other sources will be disqualified
✩ Please contain all liquids within your plot, they should not be running outside the plot border
✩ Do not build any persistent redstone devices (i.e. they run non stop) or redstone devices that have an impact outside your plot
✩ Build Battle plots are for build battle entries only, it is not a secondary creative plot for free use
✩ CV’s Official building rules apply
✩ Only items that are supplied or are available in normal creative mode can be used in builds. Anything brought in from SP using saved toolbars being used in builds will result in disqualification. You may also use decorative heads from the Heads Database

How are entries judged?

There will be an open vote for all players to pick their top three entries, which will run for one week after the closing date. More details of how and where to vote will be made available when it comes time to vote.

What can I win?

The prizes are as follows:

✩ 1st Place - 1000 cubes, 1st Place Trophy, OP Pickaxe, and Extra Creator Credits
✩ 2nd Place - 500 cubes, 2nd Place Trophy, OP Pickaxe, and Extra Creator Credits
✩ 3rd Place - 250 cubes, 3rd Place Trophy, OP Pickaxe, and Extra Creator Credits
✩ Runners-Up - Extra Creator Credits
✩ All Participants With a Complete, Timely Submission - Decorative Item and Creator Credits

When Art Slam comes to a close, a shop will open where you can spend all the Creator Credits you have earned throughout the competitions on particle effect items, decorative items, and fun consumables. You will receive Creator Credits for every competition you enter with a complete submission, regardless of whether or not you win any of the votes. The higher you place in a competition, the more Creator Credits you will receive.
