Improved Gravel Farm

Post by Lime »

Ik this was kinda looked into vaguely on the old forum, but I think it would be nice to have an above ground gravel farm. Why? It's not a problem for me considering I have aqua-affinity and efficiency V, but some people don't have aqua-affinity, so it can be really hard to farm gravel. A lot of people will probably think 'well the gravel isn't above ground', but gravel has a whole biome dedicated to it - Gravelly Mountains. This is official in the Gamepedia Minecraft Wiki too :p

I think having a gravelly mountain themed farm would just be way easier for people to gather gravel and to farm it, as I literally had to buy all of my gravel before I got aqua-affinity - I think this would be a useful change for new players needing this sort of block to say, make concrete.

I so understand where this is coming from too.
I have scuba, Eff V and DS boots and can stay under indefinitely, which makes it easier for me to get.
But I have also reverted to (may I say) other places to get my gravel from just because of the contending with the water thing.
I too don't like the underwater gravel farm and was also wondering if the water could be removed from the pit?
Thanks.

Psst Lime... Do a poll to see how many want no water in the pit.

Would something like the gravel mountains work for this kind of situation?

But you need gravel for concrete, and concrete in itself is tedious to make in bulk.

Yeah, tell me about it.

I like the farm we have but without water and maybe just add some climbable accesses to walls and the centre hub.
