Ok, so hear me out. Competitions, the don't get hosted often. My thinking is this is because of two possible reasons. The main one (which ties to the other) is that there are not many entries to the ones that are going on. This is (in my opinion) because the notifications get drowned out by it being in sections like "arts" etc. The people entering might not be fully interested in reading the other posts in arts, they might mistake the notification for one of the other posts.
My solution being, we make a category (or thread as weather said) especially for competitions, doing this would not only get the ones currently being hosted to get more entries but also get more to be hosted! This doing so would get the community way more interactive with each other, not that it's not already but it'd get it MORE interactive.
This would be also a great source of promotion for cubeville, take bah's art thing for example, if she said the people who entered the artwork were from cubeville, those who saw it might feel inclined to join cubeville to meet the people who did the artwork as they love their style, and then they might fall in love with the server and continue playing.
