I feel there should be an lwc flag for 'Auto Open'. Because there has been many times I have needed a trapdoor to close in the open position. Is this at all possible to achieve?

Unfortunately this is not currently an option with the way LWC works. You can alter the way you place trapdoors to try and emulate an auto-open feature, but it isn't something we're able to add at the moment, sorry.
