Skylands Games Suggestion

Post by Lime »

Hey everyone! Today I wanna just put out some suggestions for new minigames and stuff to go in the Skylands :D! I have had some cool ideas and inspirations so I thought I would put them out there on CV for the staff team to consider.

1. Turf Wars
Turf Wars is a game that is a pretty popular multiplayer concept, even endorsed by Minecraft for their own minigames on their platforms. In turf wars, there is an open 'turf' or 'plain' of land with a wall around it and sometimes fortresses on it. It is not usually that big but not small either. You can choose from a few kits and each kit gives you an advantage. It is a bow based game - the plain is split in two - red side and blue side. For about 30 seconds before the game starts, each team has their build time - they get around a stack or 32 of wool, and they basically build up a wall or a sort of turret thing out of it, but this time only lasts around 20 seconds. Basically, there is no border between the red and blue side, but in build time, you can make a small woolen wall or a sort of stand for your team to shoot from. When combat mode starts, you use your bow with arrows that gradually come in, and every kill you get on the other team, your side's colour extends 1 row into their team's area, the team to fill up the turf with their colour and get all the rows wins. Bows are 1 hit. Here is a very small representation, nothing to scale at all. Image

2. Paint Wars
This is similar to turf wars but there is no build time or sides. Basically, each team starts on their side of a small-ish (same size as turf wars) arena, maybe a skate park, subway, or mini city - everything is made out of wool. Each team has a paintball gun, and they need to shoot the wool to make it theirs, it will change from white, to blue or red depending on the team. Each bit of wool conquered is points to the team. The game is timed and goes for a set amount of time, the team with the most points at the end wins. You can also achieve points by killing your opponents, but only with weaker weapons such as an enchanted stone sword to sth.

These games are pretty simple, since the mechanics that need coding in are only the unique kits, (not for paint wars only turf wars) and also how the colours on the rows of turf wars and the walls of paint wars are changed to be a teams, also points etc.

If anyone wants clarification on some of these things or dont understand them please speak to me as I would be happy to run you through on them. I am also planning on making a larger scale version of them, particularly paint wars, to show a basis of what this game could do.
