Oh we certainly don't make 300 dollars per month? Perhaps you're seeing it in a different currency, or before the fees and the percentage that Patreon themselves take are applied.

Are you speaking from your experience of running a minecraft server with as many players as CV? This post is about the changes we're making to Patreon, adding new perks. I think we've gone into enough detail about the server finances, let's move on and let people who want to actually comment on the original announcement use this thread.

Well it's been a while since I did a comment on the forums and I would like to put in my 2 cents worth.
I used to pay Patreon years ago when I had extra money. When I saw this announcement I thought, seeing after what Wally said about not being able to fulfil the server bills, maybe I could continue being one again. Seeing I have money to spare now. $10 a month wont hurt me any more.
Last time I was a Patreon I got the gifts but rarely used them. I will be joining again, not for the gifts. They don't interest me. As for a premium plot in CW, I don't really care where my plot will be, front and centre or out in the sticks, it's all the same to me. As for adding people to my CW plot, well I can do that already. Plus I am never on a new map at the first minutes it's opened. I am asleep for hours as people explore and take a spot I would have liked. So being first I NEVER am.
I am doing this, 1 because I want to, 2 because I don't want to see CV fall. I have also put many hundreds of dollars into CV before and after the EULA, and I am glad I did because it's still around and I am having fun here.
Thanks Wally for letting us all know that we can play on CV free because you personally foot the last part of the running costs. Without you doing this CV would not be here, and without all the staff CV would not be running so smoothly.
Again Thank You to all those Patreons who have helped keep CV running all these years.

I don’t mean to push any buttons, but I’d like to share my perspective:

1. For something to be considered P2W, it has to provide an unfair advantage. In this case, you’re simply paying for perks.

2. The longer CV can break even with support from Patreon, the longer it will thrive. Saying otherwise feels a bit shortsighted.
The only reason CV is still alive is thanks to amazing people like Wally keeping it going.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t CV running off Inutt’s PC for a while? xD
CV isn’t backed by a big corporation, guys, come on.
