Crystalkeep.
Tismarnji walked through the hazy darkness of the weird reddened landscape, wondering how long she would have to venture on till she found her way out. She still didn't know where she was. She hated how the cliffs would suddenly fall away into large pools or oceans of that hot burning orange goo she had found earlier. It was stiflingly hot in this 'underworld' as she called it. But she knew she had to trek onwards to find her way out of this hellish place. Why was she even here she thought. How did she get here. Oh, that's right, she walked into that funny purple hazy swirling obsidian monstrosity that was broken down on the foreshores near her home. The one she fixed and now wished she hadn't.
Wandering around this reddened land she came upon this new portal looking structure. It was made from that blueish treed forest that she had seen earlier. She found a piece of one of the trees, that made up this portal, lying on the ground and put it in place. Instantly the portal sprung to life emitting a blueish swirling glow. Dare she walk in she thought. She was curious as to where it led. So she did.
Why was she doing this... She had already found out it did nothing but cause trouble for her. Look where she was. In a horrific place that was dark, hot and evil.
As her molecular structure reconstituted back to its normal form within the portals far realm, she wondered if it would get her closer to home. The world in which she knew. That sunny place of blocks and mining.
The world around her was full of wondrous colours as she stepped from the portal. The cyan sky hung overhead with its soft fluffy lilac clouds floating around through it and a harmless yellow sun, that she found she could look at and not have to squint from its brightness, hung in the sky. She was standing on a hill, with her toes deep in the softest brightest green grass at her feet. Well it looked like grass.
The hill sloped away down to what appeared to be a beach of pearlescent sands that sparkled in the sunlight and an ocean of powderblue water that rippled at its shore. Tismarnji walked down a track that was made of the pearly sands, till she made it to the water's edge. She lent down and touched the water. It wasn't even like water should be. It wasn't even wet. But it flowed like water should. 'Weird', she thought.
As she looked out across the water she saw what looked like 3 dolphins jumping out of it. She whistled and to her amazement they came to her. She remembered back to when she was a child and how her mother had taught her the dolphin call she now used to call them in. They were a silky grey in colour and it looked like the water had wet their skin, yet it wasn't wet. While the dolphins jumped and played she stopped watching them, to further look around this wonderous world she had discovered.
Along the shore was a boat wading on the water's edge. She walked over to it and got in. Rowing along the shore she found a rock cliff that gave way to yet another beach, with huts along it and people within it. As she rowed to shore she looked at them noting how different they looked from people she had know in her life. They had unusual hats on their square heads and folded arms, only bringing them out of their long baggy sleeves to work or hold things. Their clothes were made of the most beautiful silk like cloth she had ever seen. It was adorned with quartz crystals and pretty coloured baubles. Their shoes where made of leather in a similar fashion.
She came ashore, got out of the boat and walked up to them. They were very friendly, with looks of amazement on their faces. She thought that they were wondering where she had come from. She tried to explain how she got there, but couldn't put it into words that they could understand. Their language was made up of Ah's and Oh's of different notes and tones. Similar to the Villagers she knew back home but with a slightly different dialect to the one she understood. They brought her food. She ate. Not out of politeness, but because she was hungry.
The people then showed her around this world of theirs. The colours that she saw, the scene she witnessed were like nothing that she had ever seen before. Pink trees, lime green cows, rainbow coloured sheep, luminescent birds that could disappear in the blink of an eye, huge colourful butterflies and the tiny, pink, fluffy, plushy looking pets they owned. Which looked like a ball of fur on two legs, with big eyes and small arms. But the thing she liked the most was the flying, winged, pearly white horses that they rode. Oh how she wished she could take one of them back home with her.
It was a wondrous day with her new friends exploring this world, but she knew that she had to get home before her mother found her gone and reported it to the Moderators. They would be angry if they knew where she was. Entering a new world without their permission was against the rules and punishable with a ban. She didn't want that happening or to be in isolation for days on end. She had so much work to catch up on. Building homes for people and helping them out in other ways.
She waved to her new friends and somehow they knew she was wanting to leave. One grabbed her by the hand beckoning her like they had done to show her around. He pulled her towards a hut on the outskirts of the village and down some steps to a large room that held a yellow portal. They beckoned her to go into it, but she was afraid to because she didn't want to be in yet another dimension. He nodded to Tismarnji letting her know it was safe to do so. She hesitantly walked in as a few of the villagers waved goodbye.
When the swirling and haziness had stopped she walked out into a darkened forest. The portal was hidden in amongst some dark oak trees, in a world that was familiar. A world somewhat like her own. She walked out from the trees and saw a grassy field that she thought she knew. It was the grasslands near her home and the dark forest was the one that the Moderators had said never to venture into in fear of the evil within. She now knew there was no evil within those trees. That the people of her town would never find the hidden portal or that wonderous world, or disturb them. 'What was that place called anyway?' she thought. She decided to give it a name... Crystalkeep. Because of its beauty and the secret she would have to keep.
She ran across the field towards her home, just as her mother called to her through the open kitchen window. 'Dinner time Tis'.
She went in and sat down to eat.
'So where have you been?' Her mother asked. 'Nobody has seen you around the village all day.'
'I found this portal that took me to a wondrous land'. Tismarnji told her mother all about her adventures.
'That's nice dear. You have a wonderful imagination and tell such interesting stories', replied her mother.
Little did her mother know, it was all true.
THE END.
