Quest work needed to take a back seat for us to create the new map, but with the launch of CV7, staff are eager to continue building on the fantastic amount of work that has already gone into quests to begin bringing more of them to light.
➳ New Quest Map
The quest world is going to be unavailable for a little while after CV7 opens while we blow off the cobwebs and unpack the moving boxes, but don't worry, we don't expect it to take too long. When the quest world relaunches, it will be on our all new quest map! There are a lot of improvements and there is far more to explore.
➳ New Quests
With the new quest map will also come the opening of the Doctor quest. We hope to announce a final release date in the next month or two, dependant upon how the CV7 map transition pans out. The Doctor quest will be followed by Scuba, which has already seen construction completed and is in the scripting phase.
➳ Journals
Ever tried to come back to the quest world and wondered, where was I? What was I supposed to be doing? Well, wonder no more with your brand new, invaluable, hardcover edition, quest journal! Each quest you pick up will be added to the front of your journal, and your new favourite book will let you know what you were supposed to be doing each step of the way.
➳ Navigation
The quest world is a big place, it's easy to get lost. Luckily, signposts have been invented and the guards have learned how to talk about more than Alexia's sick cow. They even hired on some new guys. Guards will now be able to help you find your way around town, and roads outside towns have marked intersections.

We are pleased to announce that a few months into CV7.. ranks without quests will be available for purchase with cubes! Obviously they will not be priced cheaply, and you should not expect to be able to buy yourself every rank a handful of months into the map, but they will be attainable. Once a quest is released for a rank, it will no longer be purchasable with cubes. For the most part, ranks have been changed or updated rather than removed, but things have been reworked for a few reasons. A list of the ranks offered going forward follows, prices will be released a little later.
➳ Relevancy
Minecraft has changed a lot as a game since most ranks were available for purchase on Cubeville. Some of the abilities ranks used to offer were made redundant by additions and changes to vanilla gameplay. These redundancies have been replaced by new perks to earn.
➳ Dependencies
Some of the old ranks offered flat out no longer worked with the updates Minecraft has made to the game and / or the updates we've had to make to our plugins, and these offerings have been replaced.
➳ Tempering
When the old ranks were created, the environment of Cubeville was very different. Believe it or not, that was 10 years ago! As we accept that Mojang changes Minecraft over time since we've purchased it, we felt we also needed to make some changes to Cubeville's offered ranks. The Death Chain in particular is rather game breaking. We realize there will be a few people disappointed about this, but we felt the changes necessary in order to make ranks as widely available to every player as they will be. While we wish to respect past purchases, it has been many years since those purchases were made and we felt strongly that some limitations should be in place to prevent ruining huge aspects of survival gameplay and the server economy both. As such, Death Chain abilities will now have a cooldown on use the same way Doctor abilities do. This balancing of powers will allow us to continue offering many of the same abilities, plus a new one!

You may also notice the rank chains themselves have changed format a bit -
➳ Restructuring
Various ranks have been shuffled or removed from being part of a chain to give players greater choice when it comes to which ranks are their own personal priorities and the order in which they wish to achieve them. Ranks with prerequisites have them noted next to their title, (mostly the end-ranks for chains.)
➳ Flexibility
The chains themselves and the 'extra' ranks being offered may now be completed in any order. SVC has been broken up. On top of the restructuring, this gives you far more options when it comes to choosing which rank abilities you would like to work toward first.
